Challenge
Home-decor shoppers struggle to understand what fits their space, translate aesthetic preferences into actual products, and make confident purchase decisions.
At the same time, furniture ownership is costly and unsustainable—users lack convenient ways to resell, repurpose, or explore items that match their personal style.
Solution
Visual Style Recognition: Built lightweight quizzes and spatial-context inputs that translate users’ tastes into structured aesthetic profiles guiding all recommendations.
AR-Based Product Placement: Enabled users to visualize furniture in their own rooms with accurate scale, lighting, and material representation, reducing uncertainty before purchase.
Sustainable Resale Marketplace: Designed a circular ownership model where users can buy, sell, and repurpose pre-owned items through integrated chat, condition checks, and pickup coordination.
AI-powered Shopping Assistant: Introduced HeyDen, a conversational AI that recommends alternatives, validates styling choices, and provides mood- and material-based suggestions in real time.
Social Inspiration Layer: Added community feeds where users share room snapshots, receive design advice, and earn reward points for helpful contributions.
